Aims
  To promote excellence in research, teaching and analysis that deals with the UN, multilateralism and international organizations; strengthen relations and mutual understanding between the academic and practitioner communities. The ACUNS is an international association of educational and research institutions and individual scholars, teachers, practitioners. The Council focuses special attention on the programs and agencies of the UN system and other IGOs and NGOs that enhance the capacity of the international community to manage common problems on the global agenda. It was created to bridge the gap between the UN and scholars working on topics related to the UN and the field of international cooperation.
Activities
  ACUNS organizes: annual conferences on themes such as “Implementing the Millennium declaration: the five year review” (2005); research and policy workshops; training events; summer workshops for younger scholars and practitioners on international organizations studies and themes such as the MDGs and the UN Reform. Continuing activities include: Dissertation Award Program; Building a Constituency for the UN through Education project. A journal is published by ACUNS: Global Governance: A Review of Multilateralism and International Organizations and it regularly publishes lectures. ACUNS is part of the UN Intellectual History Project.
