Aims
  Function as the democratic link between institutions and peoples of the French-speaking world; further the influence of the French language; contribute to the development and reciprocal understanding of cultures and civilization of peoples habitually using the French language although not a French culture or civilization; promote cooperation and reinforce solidarity with the French-speaking community, respecting the right to development; promote democracy, the rule of law and individual rights, particularly within the French-speaking community.
Activities
  APF acts as an arena for discussion, proposals and information exchange relating to subjects such as freedoms and political rights, Parliaments and communication, French-speaking economic area and decentralized cooperation or education, difficulties for the dissemination of knowledge in the French-speaking countries or the place of French in international organizations.
The Assembly adopts resolutions on subjects in political, economic, social and cultural fields of interest to the French-speaking community. It adopts opinions and recommendations for the Conférence ministérielle de la Francophonie, as well as recommendations for Heads of State and Goververment having French a common language.
